CurAegis is Brian’s third start-up engagement. He is responsible for identifying and coordinating customer opportunities as well as implementing strategies to improve the customer and user experience. As a professional finder of technologies, ideas, equipment and solutions to help get a prelaunch companies get off the ground, his main directive is to work himself out of positions by building new capabilities or processes where there is a current lack of corporate ability. Once established, those structures and processes are handed off to an incoming manager ready to build a team to take over that function building on those new processes and controls.
Brian studied Advertising Photography for his Undergraduate Degree followed by a Master’s in Digital Imaging Publishing. These are both integral to the art of visual communication. Using this background, Brian has built user group conferences, produced and implemented large equipment deployment plans as well as standing up training programs for infield deployment. He has given well over 2,000 product presentations and trained multiple sales forces on how to best present their product. This communication ability derives from an empathy for issues a CEO faces all the way down to the daily issues of a front line worker.
Outside of CurAegis, Brian is a business coach with The Technical Entrepreneurs Network in Rochester, helping start-ups navigate the early pitfalls of productization, marketing and sales. On the fun side, he is an avid chef, smoking many kind of meats and cheeses, and contemplates the mysteries of food science. He and his wife are members of the Rochester Bartenders’ Guild, and are dedicated to art of the cocktail with a focus on first class service. He takes gymnastics and along with his wife, they are learning aerial silks together at Aerial Arts of Rochester.
